Accomodation - Arrival, transportation - Currency
The invited speakers will be accomodated at Hotel Abou Nawas Gammarth , located in the Gammarth bay.
Participants wishing to be accomodated at this hotel, and charged the special rates granted to PICOF'02, should ask the Organizing Committe (hedia.chaker@enit.rnu.tn).
Several hotels, including those of the Tunis and Carthage area, are listed in the following site.
You will land at the Tunis Carthage airport, located approximately halfway between Tunis and Carthage. The best way to join the hotel is to use a cab, cheap and sure. Urban cabs are yellow, and they have meters. On the way out the airport, the station is located on your left hand side. A ride to the hotel will cost you from 5 to 7 Tunisian Dinars (less than 6 Euros or 5 US$).
The Tunisian currency is the Dinar, the approximate value of which is 5FF, 0.75 Euro or 0.65 US$ (click here to get the rates). The Tunisian Dinar is not a convertible currency, you should thus change only the amount of money you need. Change is available almost everywhere, and especially in airports, hotels and of course banks. Cash machines, accepting most credit cards (Visa, Master Card, American,...), are also pretty numerous. You can use your credit card to pay for your expenses in hotels, restaurants (touristic ares at least), to rent a car or buy crafts. You also can change back your left Dinars, provided you can show the change sheets, that should therefore be kept in case of.
